Crowdfunding with Kickstarter

“Crowdfunding is the collective effort of individuals who network and pool their money, usually via the Internet, to support efforts initiated by other people or organizations.”    Kickstarter is a crowdfunding resourse that allows people to fund their creative projects. Project creators go to Kickstarter to describe their project, set funding goals and deadlines.  People known as backers then donate to the project via the platform and recieve a gift based upon the amount they donated.  The funding goal must be met by the deadline for the project creators to receive the money.  Kickstarter focuses around creative projects by musicians, artists, designers and filmmakers. Click on “Discover great projects” to check out what is being funded.  The Curd Collective based in Portland is a social app for cheese lovers. Pirate Magic Secrets is a children’s book from Salem. Meat @ Grain Station wants to provide access to local meats, deli items, cheeses and beer in McMinnville.  Go to kickstarter.com to check out other projects.
