Day 5 – Garden Planning Apps

Two summers ago, I put in 3 4×8 garden beds and started keeping notes in my Google Drive on what works and what doesn’t. The other day I ran across an article about gardening apps that could possibly do this for me. I really could only find one that really fit my needs, called Garden Squared. It allows me to create beds, then put in the plant for each square foot and add notes. It started out fantastic, but quickly turned to disappointment. You have to do each square foot individually, which can be repetitive. Also, they have very limited choices on plant icons. I find that I can do it faster and better in Google Drive using a spreadsheet and a drawing file.

Do you keep track of your gardens from year to year? If so, how?
