In January, Oregon Secretary of State created a position called the Small Business Advocate, which is currently filled by Ruth Miles. This position is designed to help small businesses navigate state regulations.

“The Small Business Advocate’s core mission is to assist entrepreneurs who believe they’ve been subject to unreasonable or unfair state regulatory actions. This includes:
The advocate investigates complaints and works toward a mutual resolution.”
