Cut the Cable

Cut the Cable is a class that teaches people how to stop paying for cable but still watch TV using their internet connection.  Many people have expressed frustrations about traditional cable companies as well as questions regarding streaming services.  This one-time class teaches students about digital antennas, devices to stream content  and services that have content to stream as well as specific websites that stream content.

Often a digital antenna solves the solution, but how do you know if it will work for you before you buy one? The devices that can stream content, like the Roku, Chromecast, and Apple TV, are fairly different from each other.  We talk about how to set them up and how they work, so you can determine the best one for your situation.  Also, a myriad of services is available to stream content.  If you get them all, you will be paying more than your cable bill.  So which one should you get?

Cut the Cable is one or two hour class depending on the location and is offered at all of my senior centers.  Salem, McMinnville, Beaverton, Hillsboro and Silverton Senior Centers. Call your Senior Center to sign up.  Call your Senior Center to sign up.
